A Walking Tour of the Constitution

Day 1: In groups, students create an outline of the Constitution. Here's an example from Teaching American History: "I. Article I: Everything about Congress."

Day 2 (or as homework): Students complete a Constitution Scavenger hunt, using their outlines as a road map.

  • This lesson has been approved for middle school (MS) and high school (HS) students.
  • However, we think it would be excellent for college students as well.

Remote Ready:  With Modifications

  • Links to the reading assignments can easily be emailed or posted for students.
  • Outlines and scavenger hunts could be emailed.  Or you could paraphrase questions into your LMS to make them easier to grade.
